On March 16th, the Comunidade Intermunicipal (CIM) Douro unveiled the program it will present at Expo Osaka 2025. Under the theme "Douro, Liquid Geography," CIM will host an exhibition at the Portugal Pavilion combining contemporary art, photography, poetry, music, and performance. The goal is to highlight the rich history and culture of the Douro region while projecting it into the future.
The press presentation was attended by Joana Gomes Cardoso, the Commissioner General of Portugal at Expo Osaka 2025, and Filipa Oliveira, the curator of the Douro program. Both emphasised the importance of showcasing the Douro region at Expo Osaka, presenting its cultural diversity to the world and blending tradition with innovation.

The exhibition aims to offer an immersive experience for Expo Osaka visitors, providing a unique perspective on the landscape, people, and culture of the Douro, along with its future projections.
Expo 2025 Osaka will run from April 13th to October 13th, with an estimated 28 million visitors.
