August 22, 2024, marks a significant milestone: We have officially laid the first stone of the Portugal Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka! Spanning over 1,800 square meters and located in the 'Empowering Lives' zone of the Expo site, our pavilion strongly focuses on sustainability and the circular economy, adhering to the highest technical and environmental standards to minimise Portugal's carbon footprint during the event.
Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the Portugal Pavilion invites visitors to explore and immerse themselves in the ocean, symbolically bringing a piece of it to Expo 2025 Osaka. The pavilion captures the essence of oceanic movement, breaking it down into its most captivating elements.
We look forward to welcoming around 1.4 million visitors throughout the six-month exhibition, 90% of whom are expected to be from Japan.
We can't wait to share this unique experience with the world. We invite you all to visit the Portugal Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and discover the wonders of our ocean and our nation's innovative spirit.
Join us on this extraordinary journey!
