Throughout both days, the venue will host a showcase of Portuguese products and innovation, aiming to boost exports and the internationalisation of Portuguese know-how to buyers, opinion makers, universities and research centres.
The programme begins on 5 June with a forum dedicated to Blue Biotechnology, in line with the theme of the Portuguese Pavilion – “Ocean, the Blue Dialogue”. The morning sessions will feature presentations such as “PortugalFoods @ Japan” and “VIIAFOOD Innovation Pact: Shaping the Future” by Deolinda Silva of PortugalFoods, followed by Manuela Pintado (CBFQ) on biotechnology-driven innovation for a sustainable blue and circular bioeconomy, and Francisco Gândara (Colab4Food) on collaborative innovation models. The session will conclude with a networking and tasting moment, featuring Portuguese products.
On 6 June, the focus shifts to Portuguese culture and gastronomy. The afternoon opens with another presentation by Deolinda Silva and continues with an introduction to Portuguese gastronomy and food culture by André Jacques (PortugalFoods). A highlight of the day will be a thematic showcooking session, offering a Japanese perspective on Portuguese cuisine, followed by another networking and tasting moment.
