Related Paths brings contemporary Portuguese architecture to Expo 2025 Osaka through the work of four Lisbon-based studios: Aires Mateus, Bak Gordon, Inês Lobo, and Ricardo Carvalho. Curated by Alexandre Vicente, the exhibition showcases four projects from each studio, exploring themes such as heritage, reuse, landscape, and the urgent need for housing in a context of global crisis.

Portuguese architecture has gained international recognition, driven by the legacy of Álvaro Siza Vieira and the talent of subsequent generations. Related Paths reflects this continuity, highlighting connections between the four studios and the ways in which they interpret architectural culture in the territories where they work.
The dialogue with Japan emerges naturally in a country where architecture is also a significant cultural expression. This exhibition seeks to build a bridge between the two geographies, exploring affinities and exchanges between architects who, from different latitudes, share a global vision of space and society.
Alexandre Vicente, an architect, has lived in Japan since 2013, collaborating with various Japanese architects such as Ryuichi Ashizawa, Sou Fujimoto, Hideyuki Nakayama, and Nikken Sekkei. He founded AV Studio in Osaka in 2017.
